Lost Gulch Elopement

A Lost Gulch elopement was the perfect choice for Sidra and Brandon, who wanted their wedding to truly reflect their relationship. Despite their fear of heights, they bravely held their ceremony right on the edge of the overlook at Lost Gulch—and it was totally worth it!

Lost Gulch is famous for its expansive views of the foothills and mountains. Typically, it’s packed on the weekends in the evening, but we lucked out. We had the entire place to ourselves—pretty unheard of for a Saturday! Sidra and Brandon wanted me to capture a few key moments: their ceremony at the overlook, signing their marriage license, sharing a slice of cake, and making a toast. Plus, they gave me full creative freedom with the photos. Their officiant, Brandon Baker—you might know him as Johnny Tsunami—added a fun surprise for their guests. So, of course, we had to snag some photos with him after the ceremony.

Eloping gives you the freedom to customize your day and make it exactly how you want it. You can keep things simple, or you can add as many personal touches as you like—flowers, cake, makeup, or even a champagne toast. The options are truly endless. Sidra and Brandon elevated the overall look and feel of their elopement by adding flowers from Boulder Blooms and incorporating a cake cutting and champagne toast. All of these elements perfectly complemented their day, showing that even the smallest details can make all the difference.

Also, anyone considering a Lost Gulch elopement must obtain a permit through the Boulder OSMP system. It’s straightforward and guarantees you won’t face any hiccups with park rangers or risk a fine. Apply for your permit here.

After their picture-perfect ceremony and portraits at Lost Gulch, I set up a small picnic for the two of them. They enjoyed some cake and a toast before heading off to dinner with their nearest and dearest. All in all, it was a day filled with smiles, laughter, and stunning views—a perfect start to their forever.
