CoLORADO ELOPEMENT PHOTOGRAPHER

EMOTIVE ATMOSPHERIC GENUINE

Jo + Don’s Lake Isabelle Hiking Elopement

There’s something undeniably magical about a Lake Isabelle hiking elopement at sunrise. In the heart of Colorado’s Indian Peaks Wilderness, Jo and Don exchanged vows surrounded by alpine lakes, wildflowers, and the soft golden light of early morning. These two adventurous souls first met in a hiking Facebook group—bonding over their love of the outdoors, mushroom foraging, and chasing trails together. Years later, they packed up their wedding attire and backpacks, traveling all the way from Pennsylvania to elope in one of Colorado’s most breathtaking mountain locations.

From the moment Jo and Don first reached out, I knew this day would be something special. Their vision of a hiking elopement in Colorado—sunrise light, boots on dirt trail, vows in the mountains—was everything I live for as an elopement photographer. Getting to help plan, coordinate, and capture their Lake Isabelle hiking elopement was such a joy. Watching them take it all in—the golden light on the peaks, the quiet moments before “I do”—was the kind of morning that reminds me why I do what I do. Don and Jo, you two are pure magic, and if there’s ever a sequel to this day… I’m so in. If you’re ready to plan your Lake Isabelle hiking elopement, reach out here!

Review from the Couple: 5/5 “I cannot recommend Danielle highly enough. My husband and I met each-other because of a shared love of hiking and nature in our home region in the Appalachian Mountains. When he proposed in the Smoky Mountains, we both immediately knew that our wedding had to match our vibe- our vibe being peace & quiet, nature and just us. Colorado provided the perfect backdrop of the Rocky Mountain range, and a self-solemnizing marriage option.

I can’t tell you how many adventure elopement pages I sifted through, looking for someone who would allow us freedom to explore candidly and put our boots really to the ground. Danielle from the start was warm, inviting, professional, and had lots of tips to help us.

Coming from sea level to the elevation in CO is no small task. Danielle made sure I was prepared as a bride, and we knew what we were taking on as hikers. The quiz that she sent us when we first booked with her helped us narrow down what it was we were truly looking for and what energy we were trying to capture.
When the day finally arrived, Danielle was so easy to get along with, and is truly a light of a person. We hiked 5 miles in wedding attire with her, laughing and retelling our love story to the glacial lake we chose as our destination.
Danielle kept us on task and on time, while still allowing many little rests, picture opportunities, and all the well wishes we received from the hiking community on the trail.

The memories are wonderful in and of themselves, but the pictures continue to blow us over with how beautiful they turned out.

It was worth every penny to me and my husband to scrap the big fancy wedding and have this day, this hike, to ourselves in our own little world in the trees. It was truly the hike of a lifetime, and it would not have been the same, or as well documented without Danielle.” – Jo
